BFA PERFORMANCE · BUYING GUIDE
Cat-back or downpipe: which exhaust section do you need?
Begin with the part of the exhaust you want to replace. A vehicle name alone is not enough to select the right system.
Three different exhaust sections
An axle-back replaces the rear section. A cat-back covers more of the system downstream of the catalytic converter. A downpipe sits close to the turbocharger and may contain a catalytic converter. The product’s parts list defines exactly what is included.
Compare equivalent specifications
Check the material, catalytic converters, valves and included pipes. A pair of downpipes and a rear exhaust system are different purchases, even when listed for the same engine. Sensors and oxygen probes are not included in our range.
Sound and road approval
The engine, particulate filter, silencers and valves work together to determine sound. We do not promise a power gain or noise level without product measurements. Fitment is not evidence of road approval: request documentation for the exact product, vehicle and intended use.
Choose your system
Select the chassis, model year and engine before ordering. Read the selected specification and check whether the original catalytic converters and OPF/GPF remain in place. If unsure, send your VIN and photographs of the existing setup.
